The Only Person You can depend on - 1

Let’s all be quite frank and honest with one another. Humans are not the smartest species on planet earth. Sometimes, we think stupid things, we say stupid things and we do stupid things. But one of the dumbest things that we actually do in our lives is depend on other people. We don’t realize we can only depend on, or trust in, ourselves.

We do it everyday without even knowing it. We depend on other people to make us happy when we venture out looking for love. What we don’t realize is that first we must be happy with our lives, and ourselves so that the other person only enriches us further, a complement to our life that is parallel with it.

People are afraid to look at the mirror in life, they are afraid to accept the truth about themselves and about what is going on; thus, they take the easy way out, just like they do with everything else, and depend on others for happiness, opportunities and a better life.

What they don’t realize is that they are doing themselves a disservice. It happens so much that it is almost impossible to stop. By depending on others, not trusting yourself and hoping for a miracle to happen — you will end up miserable for the rest of your life. You need to wake up and smell the coffee as the old saying goes.

No one is going to do anything for you. No one is going to help you when you need it most. Your friends will disappear and the people you thought you loved will walk out on you. Humanity is so afraid of being alone and looks at it as such a negative thing, because we don’t know how to trust ourselves and depend on ourselves. That is why we become depressed and feel like our lives will never amount to anything.

You need to start getting to know yourself, start understanding who you really are and start trusting your own judgments and decisions, because ultimately, that is what will shape your destiny. We let insecurities and judgments play such a big role in our lives, but what we don’t realize is that those things don’t have anything to do with us. They are purely opinions and a lion never listens to the opinions of sheep.
