If there is one thing you will learn, the hard way or the easy way, is that when all is said and done, the only person you can trust is yourself. Everyone has different motives and no matter how close they are to you, they will disappear as fast as they came in when you need them most.
There will be points in your life where you hit rock bottom, where you feel alone, but instead of losing your mind and thinking you are worthless, you need to take that time to understand the only person you have: yourself. So why not understand how to deal with yourself, your problems and the situations around you, so that you can excel in life.
When you depend on others you are giving them a power over something that they should not have power: your life. “You never let another man borrow your girl or your car, and when you depend on others, you are letting them borrow your life.”
Take control of your own destiny and realize that you are the one that is going to get yourself where you want to go — not anyone else. There is no golden road to follow, and there are no handouts — so stop depending on them.
Stop looking for advice or the secret formula to life. When we walk on the street, all we see are miserable faces who can’t hate their lives more than they already do…and that is because they depend on other people for happiness. They don’t trust themselves and have been pigeonholed into a life they hate, because there is no self-awareness, self-decision or self-trust.
Lastly, it all comes down to you knowing you. You, and no one else, can understand or make what you want out of your life. The only person that will meet you at the end of the tunnel after it’s all said and done, is yourself.
The only person you can depend on is you and the only person you can trust is you. When you don’t understand that, you’ll lead a life full of questions without answers. The choice is ultimately yours.
